July 23.  Welcome, to this week's newsletter.  Just to give you a heads up, we will be sending an email to invite a very small sample of our membership to fill out a survey on your experiences 2, 5, and 10 years out from retirement.  A member suggested this and we think the results might bevery interesting. Ohio has so many great college towns, and this is one of them. It has a walkable and thriving downtown with shops and restaurants. The College of Wooster and the Wayne Center for the Arts offer music, arts, andlectures.
We know that many of our members dream of living near a beach, and sometimes that means at a beach on a lake.  In Part 2 of our series of great retirement towns on lakes, we pick 10 more candidates for your consideration. Plus, we hope you will add your own suggestions.
Known as the City of Roses, Portland's many charms attract both young people and retirees. They come for the 227 parks in the city, including an urban wilderness. Then there is Powell's Books, plus the nearby mountains. The climate is great for growing anything.
Robert Klein wrote an article about  a potential windfall we had never heard about before. We've summarized his thoughts about this "file and suspend" idea, which could work for singles as well as married couples. Caution,this ideas is complex and not for everyone.
